Hello FC Community,
We are glad to announce the start of a new series, “HOW I,” a first-person account of men and women that will inspire and teach you lessons you can apply in your lives. HOW I started as a simple idea, and so far, we have talked with six amazing individuals who have done amazing things, and their stories are beyond inspiring!
We spoke with content creator Salem King and gleaned much from his experience. We learned how his decision to post consistently for thirty days took him from 1,500 to 5,000 followers on Instagram and how that opened the door to brand deals, and eventually becoming a full-time content creator. He even went into some of the secrets to community building and longterm inpact. In short, it was inspiring from start to finish.
We also talked with the founder of Pivo, Nkiru Amadi-Emina, who shared her difficult journey building a business with us. She had always wanted to own a company but seemed to encounter failure at every turn. She had no clients, got rejected, and hustled to survive for years. She was super ambitious but broke. Listen to her story to learn how things turned around for her. You won’t regret it.
Joyce Imiegha’s story is the one that started it all. She discussed how her life changed in a year and how it all started with her pursuing what she wanted rather than waiting for things to come. With motivation, she was able to move to the UK, start studying psychology, pivot her career to product management, and build a startup. All in all, we highly recommend you listen to her story.
We also talked to Aanu Jide-Ojo, a clinical psychologist and founder of UsTherapy. She shared with us the importance of mental health awareness in work, how it ultimately can affect your performance, and how that led her to want to spread that awareness. You’ll learn a lot from her story.
Finally, our Founder, Peace Itimi, shared what it was like planning a successful event that hosted 500 people in six weeks. She delved into the entire journey —from acquiring sponsors, to finding the venue, speakers, etc — and shared insights on the factors that led to the event’s success. This is a must watch episode.
With HOW I, we aim to give people a space to tell their heart-felt life stories. It’s an extension of Founder’s Connect’s mission to educate, inspire, and motivate. This is why we would really appreciate it if you like this post, comment, and share with as many friends and family as you can!
